Customers that need the popular database server can choose OS templates for the following versions of Microsoft SQL Server:
Windows 2008 R2 Enterprise /w SQL Server 2008 R2 Standard 64bit
Windows 2008 R2 Enterprise /w SQL Server 2008 R2 Web 64bit
To create a Windows Virtual Machine running MS SQL Server go to Create-A-Cloud® and use our tool to specify your resources. Just choose the Standard or Web edition from the OS template dropdown list. Within minutes your fully licensed, standalone MS SQL Server database will be up and running.

Coming Soon! – CDP Backups
We have been very busy here at eApps. Recently we launched our new web site, began offering Windows hosting, and opened our new data center in Richmond. But wait, there is more! We are working on an exciting new backup approach for our Virtual Machine in the Cloud service using highly efficient and powerful software from R1Soft, the leader in Continuous Data Protection (CDP). We will offer two levels of backup services.
The standard service will be the same as what we now offer. Customers will be able to create one off backups and set up daily, weekly, monthly and annual retention cycles. The economically priced advanced service will provide the full power of R1Soft’s CDP software. Customers will have access to the R1Soft administration console and will be able to manage the backup process with a very fine granularity, including creating recovery points at short intervals. Watch for news about this awesome new service.

Tuning MySQL
When MYSQL is installed from an OS Template or the Control Panel, a default configuration is used for the settings. The default settings are a good starting point, but adjustment of the settings is often required to maximize the performance of a database server.
